Our guesthouse has a very central location in Olhão, only minutes away from waterfront,ferry,restaurants, bars, shops and also the busstation and trainstation are a short walking distance away. You may park your car for free opposite the police station or in any of the small sidestreets close to Pension Bicuar.
International airport Faro is situated only 16 km from our guesthouse, there are good bus and trainconnections to Olhão. (Tickets € 1,40) Of course you can get taxi´s to Olhão (€ 18 – € 22) in case you do not have a car.
Arriving by car
If coming from the east or west, via the A22, come off at junction 15, the Olhao exit, and take the EN 398 south and follow signs for Olhao. If coming from Faro follow signs to Olhao then turn right at the water fountain roundabout as you come into town. This road leads to the waterfront and the markets. Park your car and you will find us less than 150 meters away from the marketbuildings inside the old centre.
Arriving by train
Olhão trainstation is on the Villa Real do St Antonio – Lagos line which also serves Faro, and ticket information, times and prices can be found here. There are around 17 trains a day from Faro, depending on the day of the week, and the journey only takes 10 minutes and costs €1.05 each way. If you are coming from Lisbon you will need to change at Faro.The station in Olhao lays mid way down the Avenida da Republica.
Arriving by Bus
The bus is another option if you are staying in on the coast. There are a number of busses that run up and down the coast each day. See bus timetable in english here. The bus station can be found on Rua General Humberto Delgado not far from the train station and a short walking distance to our guesthouse in Rua Vasco da Gama.
After arriving by bus or train just walk down to the Avenida Republica and turn right towards the Church. Arriving at the end of the avenida take the farthest street on your left, this is the pedestrianstreet Rua Vasco da Gama, you will find us at the end on your right.
